2011: This year, we were fortunate enough to again give out two scholarships. Their letters are included below:

Dear Mr. Ken Vanbuskirk,

I am very pleased to be a recipient of your scholarship. I was frightened over the last couple of months on how I will be able to pay for college, and with your help I will definitely be able to go to college. You have help lift a big weight off of my shoulders. I will be attending Washington State University this upcoming fall, and I am very excited. I want to become a biologist. Thank you again.

2010: We were able to give out two scholarships. Below, is a letter from one of those recipients, Zachary Kissler. The other recipient is Michelle Younger.

Dear Scholarship Committee,

I am honored to be a recipient of the Belfair Farmers Market Scholarship. I appreciate your confidence in me and willingness to contribute to my future education.

My interest in science, math, and research has driven me to become an aeronautical/aerospace engineer. I have been accepted to the University of Washington in the fall as a pre-engineering student. I hope to continue my education past a bachelor's degree and receive my PhD. My desire is to work for NASA as part of a cutting edge engineering team that designs and builds rockets, satellites, or components of the International Space Station. I want to contribute with ideas and solutions to further improve and advance air and space vehicles.

I am grateful for the opportunities this award will provide me. I rely on financial aid, grants and student loans to help finance my education. Receiving this scholarship will help reduce my financial burdens.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you personally for your generosity. Without scholarship patrons like you, there would be many students such as myself unable to pursue the careers they've dreamed of.
