Norms for all Farmers Market Gatherings:
No Smoking
No Foul or Disrespectful Language
Additionally, at Market General Meetings:
Keep side discussions short and quiet
Cell phones/pagers on vibrate/silent or off
1. Vendors will purchase and retain a current Belfair Farmers Market Application/Work agreement and pay a space rent for each Saturday and each space.
2. Membership fee is $40.00 to join and $15.00 per Saturday. Vendors under the age of 18 do not pay, but must follow all of the rules.
3. Vendors agree to sell products of good quality. Crafted items should be of fine quality and handmade. No reselling.
4. The market is not a forum for political or religious activities. No Solicitations. No selling outside of your booth.
5. The standard vendor space is 10’ x 10’. You may rent more than 1 space as long as there is room.
6. Vendors who have other people working in a booth must have them read and sign the market rules prior to selling.
7. Business hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm . No early Breakdowns permitted. Vehicles must be unloaded and removed prior to setup. Vehicles must be unloaded and removed prior by 8:45am. Safety and courtesy are a must. Parking is permitted in the vendor parking area, (behind the market, North of the Theler Sign or across the street). At 3 pm a Bell will ring letting the Vendors know that they may tear down and pack up. At 3:15 the Bell will ring again telling the Vendors they may now move their cars in and load up. Please tear down completely before moving your vehicle in for loading. _____ Initial
8. NO SMOKING anywhere on the Theler grounds, including in Vehicles. You are encouraged to help enforce this by reminding smokers.
9. Vendors are responsible for keeping their spaces attractive during Market hours, as well as for cleaning up their spaces after Market closes. Provide a garbage container, if needed. Children and pets must be supervised and well behaved within your space. Please respect other vendor’s spaces.
10. Vendors selling food items are required to display their Washington State Food Handlers Permit and any other permits applicable to their product. A copy of all of your permits must be submitted to the board prior to selling. The Health Inspector does come by and check.
11. Those selling animals must take special care to confine their animals in clean areas and to clean up after them.
12. A reservation call or E-mail is to be made to the market email: belfairmarket@yahoo.com by Friday of the week a vendor wants to participate, unless otherwise arranged. If you were present the Saturday before you do not need to email unless your plans changed.
13. Any complaints or concerns should be submitted in writing as soon as possible to any board member. Should any vendor have a complaint lodged against them, it will be addressed by the Market Board. The Board will follow up with further action if needed.
14. New vendors may be required to bring samples of their products to the New Vendor Acceptance Committee prior to purchasing a Market Membership.
15. Do not give out other members’ phone numbers or addresses with the exception of the Market Information number. We have a website that lists most Vendors. The Market contact is Ken VanBuskirk, President, at 360-275-3890.
16. All Vendors who wish to erect canopies or umbrellas on the site during a normal
period of Market operations, including the set up and breakdown period, are REQUIRED to
have them sufficiently and safely secured at all times. This should be approximately
25 pounds per corner and are the responsibility of the VENDOR. A member of the Board
will come around at 9 am to check that weights are secured. No canopies that are made of
Plastic pieces will be allowed, this type is very difficult to weigh down. No jugs of
any kind filled with water will be allowed.
=First offense, a vendor who fails to properly anchor their canopy or umbrella will
not be allowed to sell that day, unless they choose to sell without it.
=Second offense, vendor will have to Pay a $10.00 fine (goes into scholarship fund)
and choose to anchor or sell without.
=Third offense you will be suspended from the Market for 2 weeks.

17. Vendor needs to be at their booth at 1:00 pm for collection of rent.
18. New vendors who have never been members of our market will be given a one time only opportunity to receive special pricing. After paying the $40.00 membership fee, the new vendor will receive their space rent waived for three (3) consecutive weeks. Thereafter, they will begin paying the regular space rent.
19. All vendors are required to sign these rules after reading. Your signed copy will be turned in and you will be provided with another copy of these rules. If you have someone else work your booth with or without you, they are bound by these rules, so please make sure they have read them.
All time references are according to the Market clock, not your wrist watch or cell phones.
